102 County Road today

This small Colonial style house at 102 County Rd. in Ipswich  is known as the Henry Brown House.  It was built in 1840 on 1.5 acres between Saltonstall Brook and the current Ipswich DPW property. The land was originally part of a 14 acre land grant given to Richard Saltonstall, known for having created the first mill on the Ipswich River, and for being a strong opponent of slavery.
